Serena Menon joins Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios

Serena Menon has joined Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios as Head of Communications for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, where she will oversee communications strategy across India, Japan and Southeast Asia.

Menon announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post, writing, “A new chapter. Excited to share that I’ve joined Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios as Head of Communications for APAC. An incredibly diverse and complex region, APAC is a growth engine — and I look forward to working with teams across India, Japan, and Southeast Asia to shape what comes next.”

Based in Mumbai, Menon assumed the role in April 2026. According to her LinkedIn profile, she is responsible for leading communications teams across the region and shaping narratives around the brand, content and creative storytelling initiatives of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios.

Prior to joining Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, Menon spent more than seven years at Netflix, where she held a series of leadership roles across communications and content marketing.

Most recently, she served as Director, Public Relations, India, leading the streaming platform’s India PR team and overseeing campaigns designed to strengthen brand reputation and drive engagement around local and international content. Earlier, she was Director, Photo & AV Studio, Asia-Pacific, managing teams across markets including India, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

Menon joined Netflix in 2018 as Manager, Visual Communications, India, and later played a key role in establishing and scaling the company’s India Photo & AV Studio team.

Before moving into the streaming industry, Menon built her career in journalism and publishing. She served as Managing Editor and Associate Editor at ELLE Magazine, overseeing editorial operations and branded content initiatives.

Earlier, she held editorial positions at Hindustan Times and Hindustan Times Café, covering entertainment, lifestyle and culture while also leading newsroom and content initiatives.
