GP Petroleums appoints Rahul Arun Shetty to board

GP Petroleums Limited, the Company behind the IPOL range of automotive and industrial lubricants, has announced the appointment of Rahul Arun Shetty as an Additional Director (Non-Executive, Independent) on its Board. His term runs for two years, commencing September 21, 2026.

Shetty has close to 20 years of experience in investment banking and real estate. He is the Founder and Director of Optimus Investments, a London-based firm that has structured UK real estate deals, asset management mandates and capital raising for international investors since 2019. He earlier worked as an investment banker with Lehman Brothers, Nomura and Barclays, and currently serves as a Non-Executive Independent Director on the board of Vedanta Power.

As GP Petroleums grows its lubricants business and expands in domestic and international markets, the Board has been adding perspectives beyond the industry. Shetty’s appointment fits this approach, bringing a finance and capital markets view to the Company’s governance as it moves into its next phase of growth. He will also serve on GP Petroleums’ Audit Committee and Corporate Social Responsibility Committee.

Arjun Verma – Executive Director and CFO – GP Petroleums Limited, said, “We are pleased to welcome Mr. Shetty to the GP Petroleums Board. His years of experience across global investment banking and real estate give him a perspective that will be valuable to us, particularly as we think about capital allocation and our plans outside India. We look forward to his contribution as we take the business forward.”

Rahul Arun Shetty – Non-Executive – Independent Director – GP Petroleums Limited, said, “It’s a privilege to join the Board of GP Petroleums Limited. I look forward to working with the Board and the management team, and to being part of the Company’s growth story in the years ahead.”
