Pepe Jeans London announces the appointment of Rakesh Jallipally as its new Chief Executive Officer for India, effective 24 July 2025. With more than 18 years of experience in the fashion, retail, and consumer tech sectors, Rakesh brings extensive industry knowledge and a strategic outlook to the role.
This appointment aligns with the brand’s ongoing expansion and its focus on engaging India’s evolving consumer base. Rakesh has played a significant role in scaling businesses, expanding market reach, and leading brand transformation across various organisations. He is known for his ability to combine strategic thinking with operational execution while staying attuned to the changing retail landscape.
Prior to joining Pepe Jeans, Rakesh served as Vice President at Flipkart, where he led the launch and expansion of Spoyl, a fashion platform aimed at Gen Z consumers, and managed the men’s fashion category. His understanding of the digital-first retail environment and youth-focused trends is expected to support Pepe Jeans’ next phase in India.
Earlier, Rakesh contributed to the launch of AZORTE at Reliance Retail. He also spent nearly a decade at Arvind Fashions Ltd., holding leadership positions including CEO and COO, where he contributed to the development of brands like USPA and Flying Machine. He began his career at Raymond Ltd., managing retail operations across South India.
Rakesh holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Lucknow, with a specialization in Marketing and Strategy.
