Rishab Mukherjee has joined Yum! Brands as Chief Marketing Officer, KFC South Asia, and will be based in Singapore. A seasoned marketing and business leader with nearly two decades of experience across the Japan Asia-Pacific (JAPAC) region, Mukherjee has built a career spanning brand building, commercial leadership, and business transformation across global consumer brands.
Mukherjee announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post, writing, “I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined Yum! Brands as Chief Marketing Officer, KFC South Asia!”
Reflecting on his first few weeks in the role, he added, “Two weeks in, and I’m already fascinated by the category—and by the strategy, culture and partnerships that bring one of the world’s most iconic brands to life. I’ve been welcomed with incredible warmth and camaraderie by the talented team here, who work hard, live well and have fun!”
He further noted, “It’s so exciting to be working on a brand that I’ve known, enjoyed and admired for so many years. Especially at a time when we’re bringing fresh energy to KFC’s remarkable legacy for a new generation of fans.”
Before joining Yum! Brands, Mukherjee spent more than 16 years at Procter & Gamble, holding a series of regional leadership roles across Singapore and Asia-Pacific markets.
Most recently, he served as Commercial Leader (Beauty) and Head of Brand Function for Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore, overseeing a portfolio that included brands such as Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Herbal Essences, Rejoice, Aussie, Olay, Old Spice and Safeguard. Prior to that, he was Regional CMO (Senior Brand Director) for Haircare Japan and Korea, where he led brand health, innovation, commercialisation and media strategy across key markets.
His tenure at Procter & Gamble also included leadership roles with the SK-II business across Asia-Pacific, where he managed commercial operations, retail innovation initiatives and technology-enabled shopper experiences. Earlier in his career, he played a key role in launching and growing brands such as Old Spice and Olay across multiple Asian markets.
Mukherjee began his professional journey in digital marketing and consulting, with stints at Bray Leino Splash, Maroon Analytics and Vodafone.
