FMCG major Marico Limited has announced that Milind Barve will retire as an Independent Director with effect from the end of day on August 1, 2026, following his decision not to seek re-appointment due to persistent health issues and the need to focus on his recovery.
In a regulatory filing with the BSE and NSE, Marico said Barve informed the company of his decision through a letter dated July 1, 2026. Consequently, he will also cease to serve as Lead Independent Director, Chairman of the Audit Committee, Risk Management Committee and Stakeholders Relationship Committee, and as a member of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee from August 1, 2026.
The board and management of Marico placed on record their appreciation for Barve’s contributions during his association with the company.
Following his retirement, Girish Paranjpe, Independent Director, has been appointed Chairman of the Audit Committee and Risk Management Committee with effect from August 2, 2026.
Additionally, Apurva Purohit has been appointed Chairperson of the Stakeholders Relationship Committee with effect from August 2, 2026. The appointments were approved by Marico’s board as part of a set of resolutions passed on July 2, 2026.
