TV Today Network has elevated Geeta Mohan to the role of Group Editor – Foreign Affairs, recognising her contribution to the network’s international coverage and her leadership in foreign affairs journalism.
Mohan has been with the organisation for several years and has reported from conflict zones including Afghanistan, Ukraine and Iran. She has played a key role in strengthening India Today’s international coverage and expanding its global reporting footprint.
Over the years, Mohan has secured interviews with global leaders and policymakers, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. According to an internal note, her interview with Putin attracted 1.2 million concurrent live viewers during its broadcast.
She has also been working on India Today Global, the network’s multiplatform initiative focused on international affairs and geopolitical developments. The organisation said Mohan would continue to lead and expand the venture as global political dynamics evolve.
Announcing the elevation, TV Today Network described Mohan’s journey as an example of the depth of talent within its newsroom and its commitment to nurturing leadership from within.
The network also announced the elevation of Akshita Nandagopal to Executive Editor – Output, India Today TV. Nandagopal, who joined the organisation in 2019, will now lead the Output team and work closely with Samkhya Edamaruku, Group Managing Editor – Production. She will report to Editorial Director Supriya Prasad.
According to the organisation, Nandagopal’s elevation reflects her editorial judgement, newsroom leadership and contribution to the channel’s output operations over the years.
