Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters, the Indian specialty coffee brand, celebrated 10 years of its inception in January. To mark this milestone year, Blue Tokai launched limited-edition coffees and hosted special in-cafe customer engagement activities throughout the month of January.

Continuing the tradition of roasting unique birthday blends each year, the brand made it extra special this year with a twist! This time around, Blue Tokai brought together coffees from 10 different estates, one from each year of its journey, and roasted it together to curate the 10th Birthday Blend.

As part of the celebrations, the brand also introduced its highest-scoring Producer Series coffees as special limited-edition Party Pours, in a no-fuss brewing format, for the first time ever! The celebrations were not limited to India as Blue Tokai also showcased its coffees at World Of Coffee Dubai from January 11-13, taking Indian specialty coffee to coffee lovers the world over.

But what’s a celebration without customers? Throughout the month, Blue Tokai hosted several coffee workshops and competitions at its cafes pan India, giving people access to its in-house experts and encouraging home brewing. These competitions saw participation from seasoned and new coffee enthusiasts alike, making these activations a true celebration of Indian specialty coffee.

And that’s not all! Blue Tokai also curated a special farm trip to The Last Shola in the mystic hills of Yercaud, taking people closer to the source of the highest-scoring Indian coffees. The 3-day tour attracted coffee- lovers from across the country, giving them a sneak peek into the world of specialty coffee with experiences and conversation around cherry picking, processing, roasting and brewing.

In the last few months, Blue Tokai has also been present at events like Magnetic Fields Festival, Jaipur Literature Festival, Lollapalooza India, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival and Comic Con India, amongst several others, extending its birthday celebrations in the field of art & culture.

In January, the brand announced its $30-million Series B funding round, with robust plans to expand its presence across the value chain. At present, Blue Tokai is home to 4 roasteries, over 60 physical outlets in major Indian cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Mohali and Pune, as well as international operations in Japan.

In addition to these, the brand has also partnered with key retail outlets, luxury hotels & restaurants, top corporates and co- working spaces to bring India’s finest coffee experience to people, no matter where they are.

This year, Blue Tokai plans to open new cafes domestically and enter new cities while also expanding its operations globally. The brand will also launch new products & form factors, coffee varieties and initiatives, furthering the expansion of Indian specialty coffee and staying true to its promise of making high-quality Indian coffee accessible.
