Sumanta Bose has been appointed as head of programming at Disney Star, encompassing a pivotal role in shaping content strategy across various platforms. Apart from overseeing the Content Studio for Disney+ Hotstar, Bose will also supervise several key business verticals.
As per media reports, under the restructuring, Sumanta Bose, currently serving as Executive VP and General Manager of Star Plus, assumes the broader responsibility of heading Disney Star.
In addition to these roles, Bose will drive the overall Content Studio for Disney+ Hotstar, which encompasses Hotstar Specials (Hindi), AVOD (Hindi) content, and digital movie rights acquisitions.
Sumanta Bose has a distinguished career, having joined the Star TV network in 2011 as Vice President – Marketing.
Prior to that, he held senior positions at PE Electronics Limited and Tata Teleservices Limited, among other notable organizations.
His extensive experience spans nearly three decades across esteemed brands such as Bharti Airtel Limited, HDFC Bank, and others in the advertising and telecommunications sectors.
