Sri Adhikari Brothers has revived one of its best-known television properties, Suraag with Suraag 2.0. The revivals span distinct audiences and genres: Suraag brings its crime investigation format back through the company’s renewed association with Prasar Bharati.
Suraag 2.0, brings Sudesh Berry back as Inspector Bharat alongside Sai Ketan Rao and Jigyasa Singh, directed by Ravi Adhikari. For the company, this show offers a way to carry recognizable stories and characters forward while adapting the treatment for viewers discovering them for the first time.
Talking about the revival of the series Kailasnath Adhikari, Managing Director, Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network, said, “Damini and Suraag had earned their place with audiences because each had a strong, distinctive storytelling voice. Bringing them back gives us the opportunity to build on that recognition while making stories that speak to viewers today.
“With Damini 2.0, DD Sahyadri has returned to a property that has a deep connection with Marathi households. With Suraag 2.0, we are taking a familiar crime format and opening it up to a new generation. For us, reviving an IP means investing in what made it memorable and giving it room to grow,” Adhikari said.
Along with Suraag 2.0 Sri Adhikari Brothers are proud to announce that Damini returns as Damini 2.0 produced by Doordarshan Sahyadri’s in-house production. The original Daminiran for over nine years and crossed 1,500 episodes. Kaanchan Adhikkari, who wrote and directed the original, is returning for Damini 2.0.
