What began as a daring engineering ambition has transformed into a cutting-edge aerial platform. At just 26 years old, Ritvik and his co-founder Shayandeep Das combined technical expertise and business acumen to tackle one of India’s most challenging deep-tech frontiers: building advanced aviation hardware from scratch. In the conversation, Ritvik shares the trials of frequent failures, drone crashes, and moments of self-doubt, highlighting that persistence and practical problem-solving are as crucial as theoretical knowledge.
Engineering meets strategy
Khageshvara’s approach is as innovative in business as it is in technology. The company operates as an OEM, offering eVTOL aircraft as a service rather than selling them outright. This model allows them to log flight hours, earn user trust, and secure long-term partnerships—strategically embedding themselves into critical operations.

IdeaBaaz: Exposure and acceleration
Ritvik candidly recounts his initial reluctance toward the reality show format. Yet, after being scouted and guided by the IdeaBaaz team, the experience became a pivotal moment for Khageshvara.
The intense pitch stage, investor attention, and post-show visibility accelerated opportunities that had previously taken months of outreach. Khageshvara raised ₹1.2 crore for 6% equity, alongside a 12% race equity arrangement, marking a defining milestone in their journey.
Lessons in entrepreneurship and deep tech
The episode also delves into the personal insights Ritvik gained along the way: the importance of combining engineering talent with business sense, the value of learning from others’ successes and failures, and the transformative effect of perseverance in deep-tech ventures.
