YouTube has expanded its Shopping affiliate program, allowing creators with as few as 500 subscribers to participate. Previously limited to larger creators, this move lowers the barrier to monetisation and enables emerging creators to earn revenue by tagging products across Shorts, VOD, and Live content.
According to a recent update on the YouTube Blog, creators eligible under the YouTube Partner Program can now diversify their income by linking products from their favorite brands directly within their videos. The program is designed to provide a seamless shopping experience for viewers across mobile devices and TV screens, allowing audiences to engage with creator recommendations more easily.
YouTube highlighted that the program is not just about commissions but also about fostering stronger connections between creators and their communities. By providing trusted recommendations, creators can reinforce their role as guides for their audiences and turn purchases into lasting relationships with their viewers.
This expansion reflects YouTube’s ongoing effort to support creators at every stage of their journey, enabling even smaller channels to monetise and build sustainable revenue streams.
