PVR INOX Pictures, in association with Lionsgate Play India, is bringing Boiúna: Legend of the Amazon to theatres across India on 9th October. Directed and written by Mike P. Nelson, the film is a survival thriller that takes audiences deep into the Amazon rainforest, where a humanitarian mission takes a turn.
The film follows a team of young doctors who arrive in the Amazon on a humanitarian mission, driven by the desire to help those in need, but each carrying their own agenda.
Their arrival is met with hostility from those who see them as outsiders, and when their presence awakens the ancient Boiúna, a mythical predator that hunts both on land and in water, their mission turns into a fight for survival.
Set against the dense landscape of the Amazon, Boiúna: Legend of the Amazon blurs the lines between hunter and prey, hero and villain, as the group battles to stay alive amid tension, unexpected twists and primal fear.
Director Mike P. Nelson, known for his work on Wrong Turn and Silent Night, Deadly Night, brings his genre sensibility to the film, combining creature horror with a survival adventure.
Led by Kiana Madeira, Jessica Rothe and Logan Marshall-Green, the ensemble cast brings the film’s battle for survival to life, while producers Jeremy Bolt and Robert Kulzer bring their expertise to this cinematic experience packed with suspense, thrills and the unpredictability of the wild.
