The Government of India has reconstituted the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with immediate effect for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The reconstituted board comprises 18 members, including actor Suniel Shetty, Preity Zinta, Pankaj Tripathi, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Priyadarshan, Manoj Joshi, Roopali Ganguly and Pallavi Joshi.
Other members include Vinod Anupam, Abhishek Jain, Ricky Kej, Hansraj Hans, Supriya Yarlagadda, Yatindra Mishra, Neela Madhab Panda, Nishigandha Wad, Waman Kendre and Ramesh Patange.
The reconstitution has been carried out by the Central Government under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Cinematograph Act, 1952, read with Rule 3 of the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 2024.
The notification was issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on September 16, 2026.
