Exclusive – COTT Wk 33’26: JioHotstar leads platform audience with 68.16M unique viewers; ‘The Traitors S2’ tops SVOD originals

According to data compiled by Chrome OTT (COTT) for Week 33 ’26 and shared exclusively with MediaBrief, JioHotstar emerged as the leading platform in India’s OTT ecosystem by absolute audience scale, attracting 68.16 million unique viewers and achieving a 15.39% reach.

Amazon Prime Video (including Amazon MX Player content on CTV) followed in second place with 49.10 million unique viewers and a 62.95% reach. Netflix recorded 43.27 million unique viewers while achieving the highest market penetration, with a reach of 90.14%.

Amazon MX Player swept the top three positions in the AVOD Originals segment by unique audience volume. The gaming-centric unscripted competition Playground Season 5 led the category with 12.18 million unique viewers and an 8.64% reach.

The crime drama Clean Up Company followed in second place with 9.46 million unique viewers and a 6.71% reach, while the social drama Aatank attracted 8.23 million unique viewers and achieved a 5.84% reach.

Amazon Prime Video held the top two positions in the SVOD originals category. The second season of the reality series The Traitors, hosted by Karan Johar, topped the segment with 16.37 million unique viewers (17.27% reach).

The fourth season of the action-thriller franchise Reacher, starring Alan Ritchson, took second place with 13.47 million unique viewers (14.53% reach) across six languages. Netflix’s military air-warfare drama Operation Safed Saagar followed in third with 11.34 million unique viewers (23.62% reach).

In the movie category, Netflix’s Hindi romantic drama Cocktail 2topped the charts, drawing 14.42 million unique viewers (30.05% reach).

JioHotstar’s multi-starrer comedy film Welcome to the Jungle took second place with 12.78 million unique viewers (2.89% reach), while Zee5’s socio-political drama Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata rounded out the top three with 11.82 million unique viewers (42.21% reach).

Sony LIV maintained full ownership of the AVOD TV catch-up category. The quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 led the segment with 5.80 million unique viewers (36.27% reach).
 
The mythological series Hastinapur Ke Veer followed with 3.81 million unique viewers (23.83% reach), while the long-running sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah generated 3.76 million unique viewers (23.48% reach).

JioHotstar retained all top three spots in the SVOD catch-up category. The military medical drama 108 Base Hospital – Uri led the segment with 13.63 million unique viewers (3.32% reach) across five languages.

Rohit Shetty’s stunt reality series Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 15 took second place with 12.33 million unique viewers (3.67% reach), while the hip-hop talent competition Hustle Season 5 generated 10.48 million unique viewers (2.82% reach).
