SwitchOn, a Physical AI company focused on quality inspection in manufacturing, has raised $8 million (₹78 crore) in a Pre-Series B funding round led by IvyCap Ventures, with participation from SIG Tattva and Trifecta Capital. The funding will be used to support international expansion, advance R&D in Physical AI, and accelerate the company’s global growth ambitions.
SwitchOn, co-founded by Aniruddha Banerjee and Avra Banerjee both bringing over a decade of combined experience in computer vision, IoT, and AI from global technology leaders including Nvidia, Samsung Electronics, and Schneider Electric deployed its first production systems in 2021 and has since rapidly scaled into a global Physical AI platform.
The company integrates AI directly into manufacturing machines to deliver purpose-built VisionAI systems for the CPG, Electronics, Automotive, and Pharma industries. Its flagship platform, DeepInspect, uses edge-native computer vision to detect surface defects with sub-150-micron precision at speeds exceeding 1,200 products per minute achieving greater than 99% detection accuracy while reducing quality costs by up to 50%.
SwitchOn is trusted by leading manufacturers including Unilever, Bosch, Maruti Suzuki, and ALPA, with deployments across more than 170 production lines in over 60 manufacturing facilities across four continents.
The company’s fundraising journey reflects sustained investor confidence from a $1.1 million seed round to a $4.2 million Series A, and now the current $8 million Pre-Series B underscoring consistent execution and growing market leadership in the Physical AI space.
SwitchOn’s platform is uniquely positioned to support India’s manufacturing ambitions under Make in India and PLI schemes, enabling domestic manufacturers to achieve global quality standards through indigenous AI technology.
Aniruddha Banerjee, Co-Founder of SwitchOn, said: “We are grateful for the confidence that IvyCap Ventures, SIG Tattva, and Trifecta Capital have placed in our vision. Manufacturing is the backbone of the global economy, yet quality inspection has remained stubbornly manual for decades. Physical AI changes that equation entirely. With this round, we’re not just scaling a product we’re building the infrastructure for autonomous quality intelligence that will define how the world’s best manufacturers operate. This fundraise aligns perfectly with our long-term mission to make zero-defect manufacturing a reality for every factory floor, everywhere.”
Vikram Gupta, Founder and Managing Partner at IvyCap Ventures, said: “SwitchOn is building a globally relevant Physical AI platform that addresses a critical need in modern manufacturing. Their strong technology, execution, and growing global customer base make them well positioned to lead the next wave of industrial AI innovation. We are excited to partner with the team as they scale globally.”
Shashvat Somany, Founder, SIG Tattva, said, “The future of manufacturing won’t be built on faster machines, it will be built on smarter factories. Quality inspection has remained one of the last manual processes on the shop floor, and Physical AI is redefining it. SwitchOn pairs deep tech with production-ready execution at industrial scale. As manufacturers ourselves, we back what we would want running on our own factory floors. Tattva’s conviction goes beyond capital. We are proud to partner with Aniruddha, Avra, and the team as they build a global category leader.”
Abhijit Joshi, Director, Venture Debt at Trifecta Capital, said: “We liked the deep technical expertise the founders bring to the table, along with their ability to simultaneously manage product and business development responsibilities. SwitchOn’s IP-led quality inspection and defect detection capabilities cater to a meaningful multi-product and multi-geography opportunity, helping solve a critical pain point for large enterprise customers. We are excited to be partners with team SwitchOn in their journey to being a comprehensive quality solutions platform for a global clientele.”
