After a three-year process, Sanat recently got her gender marker officially updated on her passport. To mark her first Women’s Day “officially as her,” her friends, family, and the internet came together to pull off a surprise that has gone viral.
Sanat, whose reels documenting her transition journey have resonated with thousands, had no idea what was brewing. It all began when her friend took to X with a mission, tweeting: “My BFF finally got her gender changed on her passport after 3 years. So this is her first Women’s Day officially as her. I want to do something INSANE. Drop ideas. Go.”
The internet provided suggestions ranging from rolling out a red carpet to renting a billboard. Amidst the hype, quick-commerce platform Instamart replied, offering to help turn the ideas into reality.
The result was a house party that has social media in tears. A viral video captures the chaos: friends and family transforming a living room with streamers, photos, and a giant print-out of Sanat’s newly updated passport.
Delivery executives from Instamart showed up with essentials—decorations, snacks, and beauty care items, helping the crew set the stage.
When Sanat finally walked into the room to a burst of confetti, the reaction was captured on film. The video shows her initial shock turning into laughter, followed by tears. Surrounded by friends, she cut a celebratory cake and shared a hug with her parents.
