It’s a simple, heartfelt, stylishly done film that puts the spotlight on the major drivers of LTH’s CSR mission which the company, from its past corporate behaviour and this film too, is committed to and obviously lives with all sincerity.
The Lemon Tree Hotels sustainability film
This short film captures the essence of Lemon Tree Hotels’ Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) initiatives. Watch it here:
And here, in their own words, is what Lemon Tree Hotels have to say about this film:
“Lemon Tree believes that the brand should stand for more than ‘just profit’. We have focused our efforts on creating a socially inclusive work environment that seeks to bring in people of different backgrounds, abilities, and ethnicities and offer them work as a unified team with a common goal.
Over the years, Lemon Tree Hotels has hired and trained over 3,000 people from the most marginalized sections of Indian society including disability i.e. Speech & Hearing Impaired, Physical Disability, Down Syndrome, Slow Learner, Intellectual & Developmental Disability, Autism, Acid Survivor as well as orphan/abandoned girl, school dropout and transgender. Currently, just under 20% of the employee base is from these marginalized segments, and the target is to take this to 30-40% by 2025
“We believe that persons with disabilities must be provided the same opportunities as others to realize their full potential and live with dignity. By creating a supportive environment in the organization we allow them to deliver their best. In this way, we are able to play a part, however small, in social inclusiveness, opportunity/livelihood creation and therefore nation-building.

In an effort to reduce the carbon footprint, we use renewable energy, recycle and reuse water in many different ways and run our hotels by adopting the principles of reducing, recycle and reuse
“Currently, just under 20% of the employee base is from these marginalized segments, and the target is to take this to 30-40% by 2025. Also, we help preserve traditional art and indigenous cultures by supporting Bastar art.

Many of our hotels are designed and constructed to qualify for the Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (L.E.E.D.) Gold Standard and we continue to design new hotels to these standards. The aim is to design buildings for energy savings, efficient use of water, reduction of CO2 emission and an overall improvement in environmental quality.
“It has been our aim to change lives and impact the community, the environment, our employees, our customers, and all our stakeholders.”
A laudable, sustained and demonstrated commitment indeed.
