The BOB Project targets ‘discovery deficit’ with digital commerce platform for women entrepreneurs

The BOB Project launches digital platform to scale homegrown brands

The BOB Project officially launches its digital discovery and commerce platform this week, aiming to formalize and scale the vast but fragmented homegrown brand economy. Founded by Growth and Strategy Architect Shipra Jena and Technology Entrepreneur Alpana Chhibber, the initiative enters the market at a time when women-owned enterprises have surged to nearly 39% of all registered MSMEs in India.

By providing a structured ‘business-in-a-box’ model, the platform intends to grow its current base of 500+ verified brands to a global network of 1,000+ by the end of 2026.

The launch addresses a critical ‘Discovery Deficit’ in the startup landscape. Despite the rise of D2C brands, many women entrepreneurs struggle with high Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC) and limited access to formal markets. The BOB Project solves this by integrating a high-trust networking community with a transactional engine.

Founders can now list products and services, manage global payments, and host exclusive promotional events on a single platform, effectively turning hyper-local networking into a scalable commercial vehicle.

Recent economic indicators for 2026 highlight that while nearly 1.8 crore women lead businesses in India, over 95% remain concentrated in the micro-sector. The BOB Project is designed to break this ‘micro-ceiling’ through a phased growth strategy that enables cross-border trade without the traditional overhead costs.

The platform’s freemium model ensures that even the smallest homegrown brands can access global visibility from India and vice-versa, fostering a ‘glocal’ marketplace built on peer-to-peer advocacy.

Shipra Jena, Co-founder and Growth and Strategy Architect, The BOB Project said, “We are not just launching a platform; we are architecting a high-velocity marketing funnel for the hidden gems of the Indian economy. By aggregating 500+ brands into a data-driven ecosystem, we are creating a proprietary network that predicts consumer trends and demand. We are currently in active discussions for our initial seed funding round to further automate our tech stack and take the ‘Business over Brunch’ model to every major continent, ensuring that every woman founder has the infrastructure to scale.”

Alpana Chhibber, Co-founder, The BOB Project said, “Our technology is built to empower, not overwhelm. We’ve created a seamless path where a founder can transition from a local popup to a global storefront in minutes. The intersection of community and commerce is where the future of women-led business lies, and we are building the rails for that journey.”

As part of its 2026 roadmap, The BOB Project will expand its signature offline meetups from Delhi/NCR to major Tier-1 cities globally. These meetups will serve as the physical touchpoints for the digital platform, creating a hybrid model that maximizes brand loyalty and lifetime value. With the funding discussions underway, the founders aim to solidify The BOB Project as the ecosystem where community becomes the primary driver of international business growth. Currently the platform is bootstrapped and funded by the founding team.
