The celebration will begin from Mahalaya day (observed as the beginning of the festive season) with the telecast of “Panch Nari Hatey Tarobari”. The festive schedule also includes Pujor Adda (festive discussion), Annya Durga (stories of women), Bonedi Barir Puja (Durga Puja of mansions and palaces), and the Puja Competition.
Mahalaya Special: Panch Nari Hatey Torobari
TV9 Bangla kickstarts its festive programming with Panch Nari Hatey Torobari — a Mahalaya special paying tribute to five women who fought the “asuras” of society and emerged as icons of empowerment.
- Noti Binodini – pioneering actress, writer, and theatre personality.
- Mahasweta Devi – writer, poet, novelist, and reformer.
- Suchitra Mitra – Rabindrasangeet exponent.
- Sudipta Sengupta – the first Indian woman to set foot in Antarctica, mountaineer and geologist.
- Jhulan Goswami – India’s first woman cricketing pace bowler.
This programme will be aired on 21st Sep, from 7am to 9pm on TV9 Bangla.
Pujor Adda brings together Bengal’s stars including Abir Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, Anirban Chakraborty, Darshana Banik, Bibriti Chatterjee, Srabanti Chatterjee, Manshi Sinha, Mimi Dutta, Srijit Mukherji, and others, who will share their festive spirit and discuss upcoming releases like Raktabeej 2, Devi Chaudhurani, Indu 3 and Feluda.
This show will air from Sasthi to Nabami (28th Sept – 1st Oct) from 3:30pm to 4pm.
Bonedi Barir Pujo showcases the grandeur of Durga Puja celebrations in aristocratic mansions and Rajbaris across Bengal, narrating tales of history, culture, and devotion.
It will be telecast from 22nd – 26th Sept, 3:30pm onwards.
Annya Durga honours real-life women who embody strength and transformation. Among them are:

A woman from the tea gardens of Dooars, who fought child trafficking, taught karate to empower girls, and encouraged education for school dropouts.

Shanti Sabar of Purulia, from the Sabar tribal community, whose determination to educate underprivileged children became a symbol of resilience and hope.
Episodes will air from 23rd – 27th Sept from 11:30am to 12pm.

Sera Barowari competition will be aired from 26th – 28th Sept from 1 to 1:30pm with awards showcase from 6:30pm to 7:00pm. Sera Abason will be shown on 30th Sep from 4:30pm to 5pm. Jelar Sera will air from Sasthi to Nabami (28th Sept – 1st Oct) from 6pm to 6:30pm.
