JioHotstar unveils the trailer of Chiraiya, a social drama that aims to raise awareness regarding the topic of marital rape in India. The Divya Dutta starrer presents the point that marriage does not take away a woman’s right to her body, voice, or choice. The series challenges society to confront what has remained hidden inside homes.
Premiering on March 20, 2026, the six-episode series is directed by Shashant Shah and features performances by Divya Dutta, Sanjay Mishra, Siddharth Shaw, Prasanna Bisht, Faisal Rashid, Tinnu Anand, Sarita Joshi and Anjum Saxena, presenting a story that examines how silence can enable injustice.
The trailer offers a glimpse into the life of Kamlesh, a daughter-in-law of a family, whose world begins to change when she discovers that her sister-in-law Pooja is facing sexual abuse within her marriage. As truths begin to unfold, Kamlesh finds herself between protecting her family’s reputation and standing up for what is right. What begins as quiet concern turns into a personal battle against rooted beliefs, forcing her to question the reality that consent cannot be assumed even within marriage.
