In a clean sweep, VTION (Vidhi Techinnovation Opportunities Network Private Limited) bagged the Dr. Lalit Kanodia Laureate Award for Technology Excellence in Market Research at MRSI’s (Market Research Society of India) Golden Key Awards 2020. VTION won this award for best use of technology in market research.
VTION has built a technology stack for measurement of consumer behavior on smart devices in real time. The data collection side SDK methodology is based on Android stack & Google Services configuration. The SDK is highly optimized; such that there is minimal battery consumption, minimum data consumption and very low memory footprint.
The Middleware is a hub for high velocity data processing with Machine Learning algorithms written for data cleansing and correlation. End customer dashboards are state of art visualizations built using contemporary tools that make it easy for data exploration and analysis.
This patented technology is developed 100 percent in India and has made significant global strides as well. Proof of Concepts (POC’s) have been explored in three countries. VTION has partnered with the leading global market research and insights company- Kantar on an uninterrupted month on month OTT audio consumption measurement service. Some other global players who have availed VTION’s expertise for their Indian operations are Spotify, Prime Video and Dentsu.
Manoj Dawane, Founder & CEO, VTION, said, “VTION is humbled by the attention that we have received from MRSI and the eminent jury in having confered on us the Dr Lalit Kanodia Award for Best Technology in Market Research for 2020. Our heartfelt thanks to the entire MRSI ecosystem for considering us worthy for the same.
“VTION’s endeavor is to produce cutting edge technology and related services in the field of consumer research. We are proud to say that we have patented this technology in India and we stand for ‘Make in India, for the World’.
“We will always strive to compete globally with the best. Our sincere thanks to our partners Kantar for having given us an opportunity and believed in our technology in the early stage.
“A very small footprint application on the smartphone, accurate readings as it is based on actual behavioral data and not recall and a patented technology makes for foolproof results are some of the key strengths of the technology that we have developed and we are very hopeful that in times to come this would become an industry reference for measurement of Audio and Video OTT,” Dawane said.
Hemant Mehta, Managing Director, Insights Division & Chief Strategy Officer, South Asia, Kantar, said, “This is a reaffirmation of our commitment to the industry of providing an audience measurement service based on cutting edge and fool proof technology. Our faith in the technology is strengthened by the award of patent by the Government of India and the recognition bestowed by the market research fraternity.
“We are very proud to be partnering VTION and delivering to the industry deep insights on the consumer behavior in context of streaming media,” Mehta said.
