Vodafone 4G-LTE services can be accessed from 4G-enabled smartphone handsets from popular brands such as OnePlus, iPhone, Samsung, Micromax, Microsoft, Lava and Xolo available across the country.
Mentioning Vodafone’s experience of 4G rollouts globally, Sunil Sood, Vodafone India ME & CEO Sunil Sood, who was present to launched the services in Kochi, said, “Vodafone’s global expertise and experience of launching 4G across 19 countries gives us a better understanding of this technology and the needs of the 4G customer. Phase 1 of Voda 4G rollout
The Vodafone 4G rollout will move across the four important metros of Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata in the first phase, where testing of 4G services has already commenced. In Kerala, after Kochi, the Vodafone 4G LTE services will be available in Trivandrum and Kozhikode.
Over the last 18 months, Vodafone has invested more than Rs 700 crores in Kerala towards network expansion and modernization. After Kochi, Vodafone will take its 4G LTE services to Trivandrum and Kozhikode. Nationally, in the first phase, Vodafone will expand its 4G footprint to Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore
In hindsight, Vodafone’s launch of its 4G services from Kochi comes as no surprise, because there, Vodafone’s 4G LTE service is supported by its own “new and superfast 3G services” on a modern network of 2100 MHz. This makes Vodafone the first telecom operator in Kerala to offer 2G/3G/4G services on its own state of the art convergent radio technology – uniquely positioned to provide customers with seamless mobile internet experience. It will be recalled that over the last 18 months, the company has invested more than Rs 700 crores in Kerala towards network expansion and modernization to build a technology- and energy-efficient network architecture to support the volumes and need for speed from customers. With one of the largest retail footprints in Kerala of 303 exclusive retail stores, Vodafone’s products and services are easily available across all parts of the state.
