Since 1997, Promax has honoured creativity, innovation, and storytelling in the media and entertainment industry. Given the ‘new-normal’, and Promax’s long standing relationship with India and the phenomenal rise of OTT in India, Promax embarked on a new innovative journey with the first-ever Promax India Regional Conference & Awards 2021 which concluded virtually today.
Over 400 delegates joined in from all parts of the country to attend the Conference and then celebrate the best of Indian content with the awards.
The conference featured a fantastic line-up of industry stalwarts in from FMCG to Media, that included Priti Murthy, CEO, OMD India; Siju Prabhakaran, South Cluster Head, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd; Ashish Pherwani, Media & Entertainment Leader, EY India; Ashish Golwalkar, Head – Content, SET & Digital Business, Sony Pictures Networks India; Saugata Mukherjee, Head of Originals – SonyLIV, Sony Pictures Networks India; Samrat Ghosh, Cluster Head (East), Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd; Vijay Subramaniam, Director and Head, Content, Amazon Prime Video India; Ajit Thakur, CEO, aha; Murugan S, CEO, Southern Health Foods Pvt. Ltd; Shinoy Mathew, Founder & CEO, Matinee.Live; Srikanth V, Head of Sales & Marketing, GoldWinner; Vishnu Mohta, Co-Founder, hoichoi alongwith Shankar Bala, CEO, Fourth Dimension Media Solution; and Alok Jain, Business Head, Star MAA Networks, Star & Disney India, as they shared insights on the importance and rise of regional content, the key to the next wave of TV audiences, the dynamic growth of the OTT space and the future and potential of regional growth.
The one common take-out of this was that Regional OTT is here to stay and it is just going to get bigger and better as technology and connectivity is growing by leaps and bounds.
The engaging sessions and insights were followed by the 1st Edition of the of Regional Awards. The Jury consisting of Indian and international judges awarded works of brands from the entertainment, marketing, promotion and design industry spread across 25 categories, which made it the biggest evening in the digital industry.
The awards were hosted by RED FM’s 2 popular Radio jocks – RJ Karishma & RJ Ravi where they managed to keep everyone entertained. There was a total of 50 awards.
The bigger tally of awards were Zee Entertainment Enterprises with 12 Golds and 16 Silver; followed by Star India including Hotstar & Disney with 6 Golds and 5 Silver; Viacom18 Media with 4 Golds and 3 Silver; and Amazon Prime with 3 Golds and 1 Silver; Notably amongst them were Colors Tamil and Zee Entertainment Enterprises bagging 4 Golds each; Zee Bangla, Zee Keralam, Star India and Amazon Prime with 3 Gold each amongst others.
