Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd. rolls out Winning Over Obesity, a nationwide digital campaign focused on increasing public understanding of obesity as a chronic, manageable health condition. The campaign is themed MAHI – MAKING A HEALTHIER INDIA and features MS Dhoni, addressing issues surrounding obesity and encouraging individuals to take informed action toward long-term health and well-being.

A video featuring MS Dhoni has been shared on the campaign’s digital assets. In the video, Dhoni urges people to take action against obesity and participate in the Winning Over Obesity initiative with Emcure.

Through the campaign, Emcure seeks to move the conversation beyond obesity being viewed only as excess weight. The campaign highlights the broader health impact obesity can have on individuals. Obesity is a multifaceted condition influenced by genetics and lifestyle and has emerged as a public health challenge in India. It can affect health outcomes across age groups and is associated with an increased risk of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension.

At the core of the campaign is the message that while obesity is complex, it is manageable with medical guidance, sustained lifestyle changes, and professional support. Individuals can work towards improved health outcomes, as MS Dhoni, Cricketer, said, “Where you start matters”.

The Winning Over Obesity campaign is supported by WinningOverObesity.com, which provides resources, guidance, and information related to weight management. The initiative aligns with Emcure’s ongoing efforts focused on public health awareness and healthier lifestyle practices.

Obesity is an increasing health concern in India. According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS)-5 (2019-21), 24% of women and 23% of men are classified as overweight or obese.
