Economic Times Emerging Media Summit – The context

Media, an ever-evolving industry, has been breaking through barriers of technology, content and consumer preferences. In this VUCA world, communication is heavily affecting the advertising and marketing community. The paradigm shift in the way to communicate the brand message is shifting focus from information to interactivity. It is a day and age in which a small device has been unsettling the conventional concepts ranging from online shopping, making payments, seeking services, watching movies – all of this is just a click away on your smartphone.

Change is the only constant, suited perfectly to media architecture which has witnessed faster change, more frequent, and less certain than ever before. An explosion in digital media with the growth and expansion of social networking, blogs, forum, mobile marketing etcetera, is passé. The current trend is moving towards the next-gen media platforms; we are on the threshold of the virtual world. The way consumers digest advertising can change in the blink of an eye. It is no longer enough to stay up to date on the latest trends; it’s time to look forward to what’s next.

Consumer consumption patterns are shifting from traditional information to upscale premiumization. They have a gamut of choice to select from and discard the rest. From Cable TV to DTH to Video on Demand & OTT platforms, consumers have the choice of medium & content giving marketeers a push to create original content through path-breaking commercial-free ways. Consumers’ today is looking up for experience based interactive content.

The Economic Times Emerging Media Summit 2018 is a relevant and important opportunity fr professionals to explore the potential and possibilities in the emerging media landscape around consumer, content and commerce for solutions in the age of evolution of utilizing technology to share information in new and innovative ways.

Remember the dates: 6th and 7th December, from 9 am to 5 pm, at the Hotel Novatel, Juhu Beach, Mumbai.
