Being one of the most vulnerable age groups to COVID-19, the pandemic has significantly aggravated mental stress in older adults, considered one of the most common health problems affecting around 10-55% of the global elderly population.
In its bid to put spotlight on mental stress experienced by the elderly, Columbia Pacific Communities, India’s largest senior living community operators, has organised this session with leading psychiatrist Dr. Pallavi Arvind Joshi on the occasion of Stress Awareness Day.
Columbia Pacific Communities ensures holistic health and well-being for its senior residents, of which, stress management is an important part. While the team at Columbia Pacific Communities has demonstrated tremendous agility and understanding in transforming its communities into safer and healthier living zones during the ongoing pandemic, the pandemic has caused much anxiety and stress among the elderly.
Dr. Joshi is a consultant psychiatrist at Columbia Asia Hospitals, Whitefield, Bengaluru, and has over 10 years of experience in the field of Psychiatry. She is a gold medalist in MD Psychiatry and is an A. K. Naik award recipient for her groundbreaking research in psychopathology.
