Tech giant IBM has a new CMO for its operations across India and South East Asia – Deepali Naair, who led the marketing and digital function at IIFL and brings more than 20 years of award-winning experience to the technology conglomerate, has stepped in at IBM after the departure of Vasantha Kumar.
One of India’s senior and accomplished marketers, Naair has worked extensively across Marketing, E commerce, Brand, Product & Sales. In her previous role, she led Brand, Marketing and Digital at the IFFL Investment Manager group of Companies, which houses multiple businesses housed under the banner of IIFL Investment Managers, chief among them being Private Wealth, Asset Management, Wealth Finance and Estate Planning.
Naair has held leadership positions with Mahindra, L&T Financial Services Group & HSBC. She has also worked with brands such as Tata Motors, BPL Mobile and Draft FCB-Ulka, and was the Marketing Manager for Saffola and Mediker at Marico.
Her financial services experience includes that at HSBC Global Asset Management and L&T insurance, where she was Head – Marketing, E-Commerce and Customer Service. Naair also managed marketing for L&T Financial Services IPO and L&T Infrastructure Bonds.
Prior to IIFL, Naair led Marketing, Brand, Digital, Analytics, E-Commerce & Inventory Sales at Mahindra Holidays as Chief Marketing Officer. Both, Digital & Inventory Sales, saw tremendous growth under her leadership.

In the last few years, on the back of success of the businesses she has led, Naair has been invited to speak at technology & digital forums across the country and at International forums such as India Digital Summit, Ad-Tech, I-Media, CeBIT and DMAi. She has been a jury member numerous times for AdClub’s EMVIES, EFFIES, ABBYs; IAMAI Digital awards & DMAi awards.
Naair is highly respected by peers and the industry, and has received several prestigious awards. These include the ‘Content Marketer of the Year’ award by DMAi in 2015, being included among the ‘Top 8 futuristic brand heads in India’ by Social Samosa in 2014 and the World Brand Congress’ list of the ‘50 Most Talented Brand Leaders of India’ in 2013. In 2012, she was was recognized by the PaulWriter Top 50 CMOs for the Marketing & IT Recognition (M.IT.R) program for using technology to enhance marketing.
